This past week has been a busy birthday week for the Oliverson family. Jace turned 25 on the 9th, Shailee turned 6 (i think) on the 10th...but poor thing had to get her tonsiles out so we will be celebrated her birthday later on, and than yesterday was Elea's first birthday.

I thought Jace would want to go to the batting cages during the day for his birthday but he chose to go to the driving range, and since I think golf courses are best used for cross country races, James (Jace's nephew) came along with us to hit some golf balls.
Jace would hit the golf balls so far and so fast I couldn't even see them ;)

The water slide was such a hit, I think I went down it a good 50 times with all the kids. This picture is of Angie, Jen, and MarJean.

Watch this video Derick took of us going down the slide! Everyone had so much fun at Elea's party, thank you Jeff and Kristina!

An excuse to wear my wedding dress....

My mom mom, sisters Linda and Emily, my sister in law Michelle, Me, my nieces Claire, Kristin and Amy

My mom has been dreaming of this picture with her and her daughters and daughter in law in all of our wedding dresses. This past week we were able to finally take it. These are just some fun pictures with my dress on.
My niece Kristin and I have been SO close ever since she was born. Us in our matching dresses from the wedding.

And than he dropped me....

I really wanted all of us to do a photo shoot called trash the dress at the beach. My mom wasn't a fan of throwing away all that money her and my dad spent on our dresses. So I compromised and she let me jump on the trampoline in my dress. These are the fun pictures we came up with.

My parents have a beach cabin on Maxwelton Beach just two miles away from their house on the island. It is so much fun to watch the fireworks at the beach on the 4th because there are so many to watch. Our neighbors spend thousands of dollars on fireworks each year, we enjoy watching their money blow up!
This is our new boat, with a 9.? horsepower motor. It may not be fancy but we had so much fun with it. The boys would take it out to drop off crab pots in the morning and go pick them up in the evening. They even caught a shark! We would also put the kids on the tube and drag them along the ocean. I had gone with the kids a couple of times but Jace hadn't gone yet, so he asked me if we would get wet and I assured him it doesn't go fast enough to get us wet. So we hopped in the tube and sure enough we got wet. I love this picture because the wake of the tube is bigger than the wake of the boat.

My mom, me, and Amy. Me and this bike were inseparable during our trip to Washington. My dad had brought home an old bike from one of the families he helped move from the ward thinking he could fix it up for my niece Kristen. Oh was he wrong, I rode this bike two and from the beach sometimes twice a day...its gears don't work the handle bars are backwards and the brakes struggle but that didn't stop me. Jace worried about me getting hurt and would always make sure I made it ok, I think I convinced him to buy me a bike now :)

The whole Family...trying to get a decent pictures with 8 youngins is hard. Just wait for Jace's family pictures with 17.
I love spending time with the whole family, we are all spread out in Washington, Utah, and California so it doesn't happen too often. I'm still working on getting everyone to move to Southern Utah...no such luck yet.

Whale Watching

We have spent the past week in my hometown on Whidbey Island in Washington State for the Godsey family reunion. We got to my parents house at 1:30 AM on Tuesday morning and I woke Jace up 4.5 hours later and suprised him with a whale watching cruise for his birthday!
This is a naval ship that we passed on our walk to the cruise dock. It was huge! It even had a helicopter pad on the back.
Jace and I on the Port Townsend ferry

Jace and my sister in law Michelle sleeping on the boat before we saw the whales, none of us got much sleep before the trip. And for the record I was the only one who DIDN'T fall asleep!
On the boat with the pretty sail boats in the background.

It was a beautiful day! We were able to ride on the bow of the boat and enjoy the view. See that french braid...after 22 years of having everyone else french braid my hair I decided to give it a try and hey not bad for a beginner!

When we started going fast I got cold, so Jace wrapped me up in a cocoon.

Our best whale shot!
Make sure to watch this video till the end, thats when all the excitement happens!

We had such a fun experience watching the whales in their natural habitat. Jace was so ecstatic when he saw his first whale...it was so cute.
